Tap Rhythm Project have delivered community adult Tap Dance classes since 2006 in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Nottingham.

We deliver classes that focus upon musicality and self expression. We like to pass on material from the legendary Hoofers as well as create innovative rhythms of our own both through choreography and improvisation.

We run classes suitable for absolute beginners through to challenging advanced classes that are a great opportunity for professional performers and teachers of tap to gain some fresh inspiration. Often we are able to provide tap shoes for you to use so please contact us to enquire about this should you need them.

Class descriptions:

Tap Foundations for beginners and improvers 6:15pm – 6:45pm

Learn the basics and brush up on your technique with fun and creative exercises. A great introduction to Rhythm Tap for beginners and improvers as well as a thorough warm up for the following intermediate repertoire and choreography session.

Intermediate repertoire and choreography 6:45pm – 7:30pm

Learn material from the Hoofers and original choreography by Jess Murray designed to build your technique further. Every six weeks we will begin work on new material inspired by a particular piece of music and the rhythmic and musical nuances within it.

Improvisation and musicality 7:30pm – 8:00pm

If you are interested in performing in the next tap jam, these sessions will help you to develop your individual style and gain knowledge of how to apply your footwork musically. You will be supported through a series of led creative exercises so you can build your confidence and challenge your skills at your own pace. This class works fantastically as a stand alone session or in combination with either the Intermediate or Advanced repertoire and choreography classes to provide a more rounded rhythm tap training experience.

Advanced repertoire and choreography 8:00pm – 8:45pm

Learn new material each six weeks that integrates intricate and challenging footwork with a range of choreographic approaches to creating and setting a piece. This fast paced and creative session is suitable for advanced dancers and a great place for professionals and teachers to pick up some ideas and inspiration also.
